The Tale of the Lovely Old Door - a craigslist fairytale

Once upon a time there was a lovely old door that dreamed of being the main entrance to a loving home. It had spent many years nobly providing access to the 2nd floor of a very bad, evil 1950's duplex conversion. It was a perfectly nice door, but the book-loving owner of the lovingly restored 1920's castle, dreamed of a charming little bookcase in the doorway where the now unemployed door once stood.

it was a perfectly nice door. such a shame... maybe, thought its book-loving owner, someone else might want this lovely old door.  maybe, in the land of  craigslist, she thought, the lovely old door could find the entryway of its dreams.

so, with the fate of the lovely old door set, the king of the castle lovingly set about granting the wish of his book-lover's dreams....

happy with the progress of the new bookcase, as promised, the book-lover posted daily in the land of craigslist to find a good home for the lovely old door.  one day when restoring the lovely door's posting, the book-lover clicked on the magic search button; when the next thing she knew, she found herself down the craigslist rabbit hole, where, low and behold, she found (for the very reasonable price of $150) the perfect doors for her workroom entrance!

so the book-lover did what any craigslist wizard would NEVER, EVER do, she bought the $150 doors, before she found a home for her lovely old door - much to the chagrin of the thrifty king of the book-loving castle....but what else could the book-lover do, she just had to banish that evil ugly jalousie door presently lording over the castle's garden - SHE JUST HAD TO DO IT...

(oh, did i mention that the king is also a brilliant, charming, handsome and very sweet carpenter....) and after a little coaxing by the book-lover and a little tinkering by the king, the $150 beauties took their place as the happy sentries to the castle's soon to be (someday soon) lovely garden...

and then one day, the lovely old door found the home of its dreams as the main entry to another lovingly restored castle in the outskirts of chester county.... for the very reasonable price of $100.

and the book-lover, her carpenter king and their new bookcase lived happily every after.....

the end....
